League campaign!

Well lads, our 1st league game of the season and a very disappointing loss, to what was in the end, a very beatable Coalville. Lets ensure we recored a "W" against South Leicester 3rds this weekend in the league and get our campaign back on track! Can't wait!!! Damo.

Positives
Although it was a bitch that we lost the game on Saturday, I feel there are quite a few positives to be taken out of the game firstly Paul Scoring his first try for the 3's was fantastic, I think every one of the forwards played well it was great to have Iain back for the set pieces and Pikey back in the scrum. To push Coalville around like that in the scrums was fantastic ,their coach said to me after the game that they felt they couldnt live with us at the breakdown. Tref scored another lovely try when the ball was shipped from a solid maul and once he launched himself into the air no one was going to stop him crossing the line, so from the forwards performance at Southam we had obviously learnt our lessons. However it has to be said they had a very useful set of backs and although we had Scud and Whitters many of the other backs had not been use too league rugby but this can only be good for the future as these are the guys that need the experience or they will never progress ! so ok perhaps not a magic performance on the whole but good work in progress for the future. This week we will no doubt have a more familiar backs line up so if the forwards can manage to win set piece ball without Iain for the week I think we will do well.

Same commitment forwards please
The forwards simply need to adopt the same attitute, work ethic and commitment against South and I am sure we will be on our way to a W' like the skipper asks. I like Jase struggle to question any of the forwards on Saturday, if like me you are only just getting over the bumps and bruises. That's a cracking comment from the Coalville coach and he's right. Yes, Coalvile were better all round and yes they thoroughly deserved their win but considering that is our best result against Coalville two's in 2 seasons that says alot. So please take out the positives, prepare for saturday, go out with the same commitment and boys, we will do OK. Lets hope we can get a similar team out and lets hope that Damo isn't struggling trying to hold on to lads and not having to give up many to the 2's. We can all do our bit on this front by ensuring your mates play so neither us or the 2's are struggling for players.

Results
Loughborough 3rds. 16 v 21 Cosby Market Bosworth 3rds. 14 v 24 Coalville Leicester Lions 3rds. 5 v 5 South Leicester 3rds. Hinckley 3rds. 34 v 24 Leicester Forest Some interesting results from the 1st round of games. The biggest points difference is 10! Certainly what this does tell us is this league will again be challenging and teams will takes points off each other. South will be a very good outfit. The only advantage we have over them is that we are used to playing this standard. As a club, at 1st, 2nd team and social level we continue to get well beat by South so lets put the records straight at 3rd team level. C'mon Damo's lovely boys!

Sorry
Sorry to all that witnessed my outburst in the changing room. I was expressing my disappointment that all of us had inside us, just i did not control it. Whitters i may have been wrong to grapple with you in the changing room but i was pissed off you chucked my bag on the floor. I know its no excuse but a few of you know about the battle i am currently going through to see my daughter with my ex blowing hot or cold saying when or that i cant see Imogen. Today she made me choose between rugby and seeing her which i choose rugby and got her to back down a bit to. After the game i shot off to see imogen i did not leave as a result of the outburst. I really annoys me when we win good ball and we do not use it. It also annoys me when we dont read the game and choose the right options. often in the first half their was noone covering the blindside of their rucks and these could have been explioted. Even poor dicission making to take the kick for touch and get the lineout at a penalty when we don't have a hooker and cant win our own throw. We had ample chance to take the quick tap. The other factor that got to me was the poor standard of refereeing. This referee is not a qualified Leicestershire referee and we may have a case to replay the game. The fact we did not have a front row briefing before the game and when i was penalised for boring in he was very wrong. He was so inconcisant on the Tackle / Ruck area i personally got penalised twice on the line and both resulted in tries for playing the ball in a ruck when nothing was formed.

the facts
lets get the facts right. No idea how your bag got on the floor originally. I did not chuck your bag on the floor until you shoved it in my back. As you could easily see i was rushing off to a meet three people who had travelled up from liverpool to see me as i was going out for a meal in Ashby (when do i rush off after a game?).. I needed 1 min to put my shoes on so i could go. I know your life is up the shitter at the moment and i hope it gets better for you matey and you sort it out.. It must be shitty not seeing your kids but that is no reason to act like a first class prick. Anyway had a great night out in Ashby and my son's christening was brilliant on Sunday which really made up for a disappointing saturday. I can't recall any other game where everything was knocked on. We shot ourselves in the foot at every chance.. This must be the third game this season we could have should have won.. The one thing we used to rely on was bosy spirit its made the 3rd's so enjoyable to play.. As for Tom's point about the ref's is a good one, some of them this year have been poor but we must learn to carry on as these ref's never change their minds and all we do by challenging them is to get them on our backs. Its a funny old game anyway and there is always next week. Lets get back to winning ways next saturday. Thanks jase/damo it was appreciated

Vet's Game
Tref Whitts is now an eligible Vet ! and what a game to get back to winning ways with a massive third team contingent Myself, Cutters ,Ian , Trev , Tom, Whitters , Mike Moore, and Scud, Nick Massey, Tim and Dean giving support from the touchline. We won 33-0 to a very capable Old Newts vets side. It was a fantastic team performance forwards and backs highlight of the game was Whitters outrageous last try. Lowlight of the game, after a great ofload in contact from ian my try being disallowed for not being grounded!! Rubish ! Look forward to Saturday, Whitters get some new contact lenses you were colliding with your own team left right and centre on saturday !!

Great news / Results
Sounds magic. Well done boys. How about anyone else. Was there a 2's game? I also see all the other results were very close in the last round of league games. There will be nothing in this league!

No 2nds
There was no 2nds game as bev couldnt get enough players!!! He could only get 13 players and even the 1st team struggled with numbers.

Joking!
No way, that was without a 3rd's /social teams not playing! Oh dear!

Indeed
Yep it is totally shocking. cant believe it. We need to recruit more players within the club and also go training more as 3rd team members are down 2 2-3 players a night. Where has the 3rd team spirit gone where we train once a week?????
