PROMOTION!!!! vs Cosby. Have your say!
what a game
Had to be the first to write about this game!!
what a cracker.. The forwards played out of their
skins, it was kept tight but i knew things would
be ok after 2 mins a pen stroked home from the 10
meter line!!. Simply great defence from all
players and sharp attacks with Dom breaking the
line regularly, Dan in support.. Scuddy tackled
well at 10 and they had no answer to the backs..
Two great forward tries which were richly
deserved. They never really put us under much
pressure at all.. We could have scored another
couple of tries as we had overlaps both times but
not to worry. If you are like me i can't stop
smiling great result.. I can't play against
Loughborough so win boys and big for tref and the
club.. Enjoy the weekend because i am going to
best wishes whitters

We did it what a scalp to take worth missing the
start of the England game to delay the kick off
for a offical ref as one of the teams would be
wanting to replay it by now. We gained promotion
well done but We now need to get the tag of
Champions as coming second is not winning
anything Lets seal it against Loughborough Latest
League standings for the top 4 all played 13
games with one match to play. Market Bosworth 31
points +14 Coalville 29 points + 21 Cosby 27 +17
Loughborough 27 -7 Left to play Cosby v Leicester
Forest Loughborough 3rds v Mkt. Bosworth 3rds
Coalville v Lutterworth Shepshed v Hinckley 3rds
Lutterworth are down but they could still beat
Coalville which goes to show the quality of some
of these teams I think the League is poor for
them as they could not field a side against
Shepshed at start of the season and had points
deducted this was as a key club member died who
was father to 2 players in this team. But Cosby
messed our game about and did not get any
deducted where is the justice in that. Shepshed
were awarded the points for winning which has
ment finishing above Lutterworth.

Quotes ...
Can't believe the bbc have got quotes from the
new england stand off on our game ... "When your
forwards play like that it's easy for a 10. They
were outstanding" ... even brian ashton has had
his say - "That was a team performance, not a one-
man band - and one of the best team performances
I've seen in a long time," said Ashton.

What a Match What a Season !!!!
Well done Tref Bowen what a skip ! having been
cruelly robbed of skippering the team in our last
promotion season you've finally got there at the
second attempt in a much much harder league what a
year New baby and promotion you also get to put
your arm around me for most of the match it doesnt
get much better than that. What a game for the
forwards to play probably there most comprehensive
game of the season 1-8 played their hearts out and
give Cosby the lesson on rolling mauls they gave
us last season the engagement in the scrums was
immense the whole game !! the backs were back to
their sublime and with the addition of dan livesly
must now be the envy of the league. everyone
tackled hard and we got our rewards PROMOTION !!!
thanks to all the walking wounded that supported
us throughout the match I know it really spurred
me on. definately up for a drink on the 29th Tom
lets all make that a night to remember.

Try Machine?????????
I think the title says it all!!! :P

Get The pass outs stamped for the 29th as we need
a good session to seal it with.
Missed off from the Match Report on the home page
Tref
Inspirational Leader who led the way from the
start and others followed.
(even though he awrded my first try of the match
to cutters)!
this game was won by team spirit and doggedness
(Vickers won't be happy he missed some Dogging)

The fun never stops........................
Efforts continued to be made to prevent history
from being made with Bos 3's being the first 3rd
team to reach the top league. Following on from
the Cosby saga, I have now heard that
Loughborough are stating that a game they had
played against Shepshed earlier in the season
(20 Oct - which they lost by two points, 29-31)
is null and void due to the referee not turning
up. Therefore, they are stating they have 2
match's to play, one against us and another
against Shepshed! What is going on. The LRU
website and results over the course of the
season show the true league tables and if they
change well............my thoughts on the game
of Rugby and in Leicestershire especially will
be changed forever. You can't start moving the
goal posts now surely! The leagues seem to be
now stating this game still has to be played.
Why then did they include the result in the
official tables and results as they have done
since 20 Oct? Why didn't representatives of
Loughborough complain about this result been
included in the league tables back then! Why
have they allowed it to go unoticed and
uncorrected all season? This is a total SHAM!
The integrity and credibility of all involved is
being destroyed if this decision goes ahead.
Whether we're involved in the fight directly or
not, it still begs the big question how these
things can be allowed to happen. These are my
views and not the clubs as I am unsure whether
they have been made aware of this yet. Dean
passed this information onto me this morning and
obviously been involved in the leagues himself
he has to keep at arms length. I am tired and
fed up of all of this. I really appreciate the
efforts of everyone involved into arranging the
leagues and the fixtures as it takes alot of
time and effort, most unoticed but these
episodes, The Cosby and Loughborough saga, I re-
iterate do nothing whatsoever to assist in the
integrity of the competition!

Disgraceful
Totaly agree Tref this is only now coming about
as it will affect their chances of going up!!!
Any way to us it should matter not as we must
win the game anyway.. Try and get the best team
possible out there and get the victory...This
underhanded tactic needs investigation.. Sorry
can not make the 29th as away but i thought the
big night out was the 12th April after a home
game.. beers in bos and some grub?? is that now
not the case?
|
12 April / 17 May - Dates
I will certainly be trying to arrange something
for that night mate. I will keep in touch and
update the website with info. I hope the 17 May
is good for everyone for the Presentation
evening. It will be a real good night.

Wat crap
Tref wat ajoke this is all becoming. Thank god we
didnt play saturday with their ref down the road
lark. Shows how teams and clubs will go 2 any
lengths 2 get wat they want. I feel very sorry for
u and the whole team aswell. We have played every
game to our best and now in 1 way or another we
are being scrutinized for it. Wat a win on
saturday boys wish i could of played more and not
given any penalties away oops "sorry team" But it
wasnt ment to be as the team picked itself and u
all did just for it. I believe im jinxed with
cosby anyway lads. The last 4 games we have played
them ive only played 7mins in total. sum would
say thats too much hahaha. But we smashed them
around the park and cant wait for the next game!
Bring it on.

Shepshed replayed already
Loughborough have alreay replayed the leauge game
against Shepshed and won 46 nil
Shepshed RFC 1st XV 0pts
Loughborough RFC 3rd XV 46pts
Loughborough 3rd team completed their second
League double in as many weeks with a
comprehensive demolition of local rivals
Shepshed. Captain Joe McDonnell kept 12 of the
starting fifteen that beat Coalville last week,
and also welcomed some club players coming back
from injury and having a run-out before next
week's Easter Tour.
The skipper himself was in fine form, rallying
his troops with a speech that Eddie O'Sullivan
would have been proud of. In fact, with Ireland
capitulating at Twickenham E O'S would have no
doubt have snatched Joe's words quicker than a
Pikey lays dodgy tarmac...
Loughborough's 46 points came courtesy of seven
tries, four conversions and a drop-goal. (More on
that later.) Man-of-the-match this week was a
difficult one to call, with Dan Kirkwood, Craig
Bowles and Kevin Clarke all contributing huge
efforts to the cause. The scores came courtesy of
wingers Jamie Hart and Aaron Brown (two apiece),
outside-half Christopher Burbidge, scrum-half
Andrew Price and number eight Nick Farnham.
Fullback Leon Sullivan kicked four conversions,
including two touchline corkers, and Burbidge
realised a lifteime ambition by dropping a goal.
I can retire a happy man.
With the game being played on Shepshed's postage
stamp pitch, space was at a premium and Boro'
were keen to stay away from the touchlines. Scrum-
half Andrew Price was bossing the breakdowns and
was keen to show his range of grubber-passes,
accurately hitting the bootlaces of every
intended recipient. Several players complained
after of a bad back, presumably from having to
bend down so often.
The home side, it has to be said, were
understrength compared to the meeting in January
and though they battled manfully they were simply
overwhelmed by a Loughborough side high on
confidence. Both sides struggled with a referee
who took the word 'interpretation' to whole a new
level. Bemused looks and groaning were the order
of the day, but both sides managed to keep their
moaning to a minimum, and far less than in the
spiky atmosphere the last time the teams met.
The try of the match was the one that never was,
Nick Farnham collecting a pass in his 22 and
running fully seventy yards, at first through
three defenders and then bamboozling at least
another six, proving that you are indeed "twice
the player with the ball in two hands". Bowles
was on hand to take a pass and supply Kev Clarke
who was cut down inches short of the line. Very
unlucky for Gizmo who deserved a score for all
his hard work.
Andrew 'Shopping Trolley' Thomas finally found
his position, taking a turn at prop after ex
Shepshed player Steve Hughes retired to the
touchline to prepare for Luncheon Club duties.
(The bowler hat has been dusted off and Clubman
has promised no mercy.) Thomas was a relieved man
to have survived thirty minutes of bending over,
and could only mutter "Ooh, me back hurts" when
asked how he felt.
Radio Leicester were broadcasting live from Hind
Leys, and an excited reporter could be heard
screaming at the final whistle... "Phil Sims,
Neil Parry, Steve Hughes, Mick Sullivan, Paul
Wilkins, Andy Duncombe. Can you hear me Andy
Duncombe? Your boys took a hell of a beating."
The third team take a break from League action
next week, Easter seeing Loughborough RFC go on a
five day Tour to Essex where they will play South
Woodham Ferrers RFC and Westcliff RFC. The next
League game will be at home to Market Bosworth on
29th March.
Captain Joe 'Dustin the Turkey' commented
after; "The tarmac in the car-park at Hind Leys
is nothing to do with me, no matter how bad it
is."
Luncheon Club Chairman Steve Hughes said; "Binge-
Drinking is both an art and a science, but sheer
guts can get you through. I expect Stinkies to be
enthusiastic. There will be no room for
sentiment."
Beer Engineer Michael Wright added; "I can tell
you nothing, it is top-secret. Don't even try to
get anything out of me."
Bring it on !

Referee for saturday is Aiden Friend

Referee / Saturday
Isn't that the unexperienced guy that was
changed for the Cosby game? I will be calling
everyone today or tomorrow to fix up Saturday's
team. I will be going for the same team as
against Cosby as much as possible. Sorry to
anyone who will be disappointed. There are a
few forced changes, Whitters, Marso.
